Lifesize Genestealer

Been working a lot and haven't had much time to sit and add some stuff on here. We had a hurricane run through there and the store was closed Monday and Tuesday giving me no excuse to not post. At the store we have an entire wall devoted to Games Workshop products, mostly Warhammer 40k, so we have been working on some details to make the wall feel more in that world. We decided to build a life size genestealer popping out of the ceiling and here is the build!

Started this build with a few sheets of pink foam and a dream! Carved out some basic shapes.

Riddler Question Mark Vector

Had a bunch of people asking for measurements on my replica. Well sadly, I just doodled right on the wood and built is as I went. But, all is well! I have made a vector image which can be scaled to ANY size and used to make said question mark. Just shoot me an e-mail at Kastkreations@gmail.com and the file is yours!

Iron Man Space Marine

So I was sitting around before work and decided to work on my Carcharodons for Warhammer 40k. I have been working on and off with them for some time and just need to take the time to finish them up. Also I figured if I started posting them it would give me the motivation to do just that. We will see. The first I wana share is my Space Marine Assault Sergent in a classic Iron Man pose. Let me know what you guys think.

1st Place Malifaux Trophy!

So we had a tournament for Malifaux yesterday so I had to make a trophy for the first place winner. I took a cool looking rock that I found laying about and made a simple two part mold of it. Then cast it in resin, then again in clear resin.

Malifaux Scrap/Burrow Counters

For my army I have a few guys (most of them) that when they are destroyed they drop what are called scrap counters. One of the big guys I play known as the Soul Stone Miner drops two of these counters. Also the miner has the ability to burrow under ground and move across the field without being able to be targeted. So I decided to make some cool counters to use during the game to represent these.
What I did was take a fully intact model, and cut it up into a bunch of different pieces. Ending in 6 different counters to use during game play. Then added some paint and ended up with these guys.

Resin Steampunk Bases

After my last post I had some people e-mailing me asking about the bases my Malifaux figures were standing on and where they could get a hold of such bases. Well I was going to wait till I got the dyes I wanted to tint the resin but people want what they want. I made those bases, using a bunch of watch parts, some silicon, and two part resin. Cast the parts in resin, then cut the center out of a base and attached the edge around the resin watch parts. After making about 5 or so different styles I made a silicon mold of all five, a nice sheet of steampunk bases. These bases will be available for purchase soon on the blog store.

A Step Into A New Miniature Game

Hey it's been some time once again before I posted anything on here so I finally got some time to throw down some text here on the web. I started playing a new game lately called Malifaux, and I must say it has been a fantastic ride so far. The world the game takes place in is amazing, the fluff is fantastic and the models are the best I've ever seen for a game. Here are some pictures of some of my models with basic paint thrown on them.

Now one of the things I like most about the game is the lack of dice that is needed. The system uses a "fate deck" which is pretty much playing card you can pick up from anywhere. I could go into game play and talk about it all day, but just hit up the games main page @www.malifaux.com/

Showcase Project #1: D&D wall

So I got a new job two weeks ago at my local comic/wargaming store Showcase Comics. I have been going there for about 10 years now and finally acquired myself a spot among it's ranks. My first week there I took on an awesome project which is for the most part complete. Check it out.

Started with the wall where all the D&D stuff is located.
